I am thrilled to be offering a sliding scale once again! I feel most aligned when I am able to trust my clients to know what the work means to them financially and, most importantly, what they are able to afford. Overall, I have found for the last 5 years, that sliding scale simply WORKS! Most of us are able to see our financial priviledge or need within a social justice framework. A sliding scale works best when we are each able to reflect on our our personal and unique privileges and challenges and how they relate to those around us.In that spirit, I will openly tell you that I am a ‘white’ single mother of two with all related privileges and challenges. At this point in time I am on food stamps and have full MassHealth coverage. I do not have any family members to rely on if I were to become injured or could not otherwise make a living. That said, I did not grow up poor, just blue-collar working class.
Here are a few more ways to think about how you can approach placing yourself on this sliding scale. Please do ask any questions you have, especially if you feel confused or uncomfortable with it!

Tender Courage Community Fund
You are invited to make a contribution to the Tender Courage Community Fund!
This fund is a small way of making the services offered by Tender Courage accessible to more people in our community. I try to do my part as much as I am able as a single mother of two. I am gratefully able to accept Masshealth doula clients. I offer at least one free session a month (often quite a few more) as my personal contribution, as well as volunteering my skills with the People’s Medicine Project in past years. I can do additional free treatments with donations to the Community Fund. A donation of $60 would cover the cost of one bodywork session for a pregnant or postpartum person in need!
Please feel free to inquire if you would like to be a recipient. And please make sure to tell me if you are including a contribution to the Tender Courage Community Fund with your payment and if you have a preference of which service it covers.
