Sliding Scale
You are welcome to place yourself on the scale as you see fit. I trust you to know what you can honestly afford. The sliding scale is meant to create more access for folks who are typically not able to afford a full rate for this kind of work. It is meant to create more equity in a world that is inherently inequitable. Keep in mind that your ability to stretch just a bit is what creates this equity and my ability to continue to offer a sliding scale. This is my small way of helping to create equity in an inherently inequitable system.
This website here does a great job of talking about how to place yourself responsibly on a sliding scale. If you are in a hurry, just scroll down to the ‘green bottle’ info graphic.
Tender Courage Community Fund
You are invited to make a contribution to the Tender Courage Community Fund!
This fund is a small way of making the services offered by Tender Courage accessible to more people in our community. I offer at least one free session a month (often more) as my personal contribution, as well as volunteering my skills with the People’s Medicine Project. I can do additional free treatments with donations to the Community Fund. One hope I have is to be able to offer one or two bodywork sessions to the MassHealth doula clients I work with. I would do this at a lower rate than even my regular sliding scale: a donation of $60 would cover the cost of one bodywork session for a pregnant or postpartum person!
Please feel free to inquire if you would like to be a recipient. And please make sure to tell me if you are including a contribution to the Tender Courage Community Fund with your payment and if you have a preference of which service it covers.
Note: It is completely fine to include a contribution, but not to pay the highest end of my sliding scale. I trust your assessment of your finances and will assume that you are stretching yourself in order to contribute to the Tender Courage Community Fund.
