Plant Medicine Consultations
I am primarily a Western Herbalist, with deep roots in the healing plants of the Pacific Northwest, where I began my plant journey, and growing roots with the plants of my current home in New England.
Plant knowledge is fundamentally an indigenous knowledge, and part of a deeper relationship with place. In my work I strive to respect that deeper knowledge, and build respectful relationships with both the plants and the people who were here before me.
I aim to draw out the connections that we all have to plant medicine through our own indigenous ancestors the world over, if we go back far enough (no exceptions!). Through countless years of colonization much has been lost. But we can begin to reclaim what rightly belongs to us.

My Herbal Background
In the early spring of my 19th year, I spent the summer gardening in the high desert of Central, Oregon. One day, as I pushed aside the weeds, I saw the tender, persistent shoots of a daffodil emerging from the desert soil. I felt the vibrancy and tenacity of this little plant in a new way. To me, the exchange felt like an unmistakable form of communication. My body buzzed with the excitement of my new-found friends. I spent countless hours sitting with various plants in myriad forms of meditation to see if it would happen again. It did! …. and I learned that each plant has a unique vibration and way of making itself known. Well, I was hooked!
This is how my love affair with plants began 28 year ago…..
Despite what felt like a magical and extraordinary beginning to my relationship with plants, I have come to believe that learning plant medicine does not have to be magic-filled in that ‘only-some-people-have-access’ kind of way. In fact, it’s ideally a practical, ordinary, everyday type of magic. One that we all ought to know plenty about in order to keep ourselves, our families and our communities healthy and thriving. I believe this in much the same way that I believe we ought to know plenty more about our bodies and birth than we tend to in our culture. Why? Because our bodies and our births BELONG TO US!
Regardless of our current beliefs about our relationship to plant medicine, we are always entwined in relationship with the plant world, through the food that we eat and the landscape that we are surrounded by. Plants call us into relationship with the natural world. I believe that by simply listening, we ignite our bodies’ capacity for wholeness and health.
